Thoughts on some new shows ....

So I sampled a batch of new shows and here's what I'm sticking with, dropping and still iffy about.

( Includes thoughts on Community, Cougar Town, Eastwick, FlashForward, The Good Wife, NCIS, The Forgotten, Modern Family and The Vampire Diaries. )

I agree with you about 'The Vampire Diaries' - such a wasste of time. And I *wanted* to like it!

We're watching 'Lie to Me', 'Castle', 'Glee', 'Supernaturral' and 'Smallville'. Jim is watching 'Heroes' and 'House' on his own.

We're also intrigued with 'Fast Forward'.

And, that's it for us!

Oh, good, I'm not the only one. I wasn't going to touch it with a 10 foot pole, but I was bored and it was available and it was surprisingly good. Shocking. Haven't seen this week's episode yet to see if the trend continues.

I liked Eastwick, too, but I actually do like the actresses plus Paul Gross basically bowled me over.

I also liked Flash Forward and The Good Wife, too.

The only reason at this point that I can see to keep watching NCIS LA is the slashy relationship between Chris O'Donnell's character and LL Cool J's character. This... may have the NCIS name on it, but feels not a bit like NCIS. Meh. (I like OriginalFlavor!NCIS so much, and NCIS LA does not fare well in comparison.)

Never even heard of the next two shows you mention. The Vampire Diaries I tried for 3 episodes until Flash Forward began airing opposite it and then ditched it. *shrug* I found myself fast-forwarding through the 3rd episode, which I don't take to be a good sign.

The Vampire Diaries: I had no intention of even trying this one, but a few critics highlighted it as one of the shows to check out, so I did. I kept waiting for the originality, the wit, the sex appeal, etc. that said critics talked about. So wasn't there. I didn't even finish the episode; I turned it off with ten minutes left; it was that much of a waste of time.

Oh! The irony!

Who knew right?...

that someone who wrote THIS, as a reaction for a show and tagged it as It's a goner!, would one day be so helplessly, fiercely and head over heels in love with the SAME show. As well as have a wonderful community which is ALL about loving this show, characters, actors and creators.

Destiny..... It's a tricky li'l thing.. ;)

I guess the "Said critics" were talking about Damon Salvatore.
