Tonight's 'Hawthorne' alternately known as SQUEE!!!

Jul 28, 2009 22:40

Seriously, just I did the fan-girl waving hands thing, I grinned, I squealed, I rewatched. Just SQUEE!!!!!! You know, so often shows cast "the" couple that viewers are supposed to root for and in my experience, rarely do I find that they have that much chemistry. It's all so forced and blah. But here, on this show, damn, they hit the bulls-eye ( Read more... )

"And it was Michael Vartan saying these things looking like, you know, Michael Vartan, speaking in his native French and me? I'm just dead now. OH MY GOD!!!"- Me too. XD I also loved that they had a picture of his dog (I'm pretty sure) on his desk ; so cute!

Heh! I love how all of these Michael-things they have thrown in there. The hockey, the French, his dog now. I'm just waiting for the reveal of his tattoos, LOL!

I KNOWWWWWW. I'm usually not one for canon pairings but THIS has got me. I absolutely love Tom/Christina. I'm so glad to be getting into something I like the canon for at the beginning. Now I get to know what it's like to be part of the canon fandom!

I want to like canon pairings, but rarely do the pushed ones work. I'm fortunate in that most of my prime-time couples wind up happening eventually. (Fingers crossed for S/P.) But these two? They really did a bang-up job. And they know it! The promo for this episode was ALL about the Thornefield.

ITA Hawthorne`s Tom/Christina is the shippiest couple on tv right now...they rock!

MV/JPS have awesome chemistry and truthfully that`s why HT has become my fave drama of the season.

Love also that they gave us a tiny glimpse into their pasts & private lives...all in all a very squeeworthy night for me!!!!!!!!

I'm still kinda surprised at just how effortlessly and chemically they've slipped into this groove. It's just fabulous.

Me too; slipping that bits of info, showing them get to know one another, it just, oh, they're building them up so nicely.

I've been a bit curious about this show. I've been watching "Nurse Jackie" religiously, and I'm super over-protectinve of any other new show about nurses. But for Michael Vartan, I might make an exception. What are the medically scenes like? I'm a bit squeamish, and this will sometimes make me not watch medical shows (I've steered clear of Grey's Anatomy for this reason).

The medical stuff is mostly non-existent, LOL! It has some lack of realism, of course, but they do nurses a lot better than most shows because Jada Pinkett Smith (who is WONDERFUL!)'s mother is/was a nurse and so she's trying to more accurately reflect that. A few of the supporting characters are annoying, but Christina and Tom (Vartan) are awesome and they have EXCELLENT chemistry.

Like Arabian said , it `s not much based on realism & there`s rarely any gory scenes in ER or OR. But you know what for once, I`m enjoying a show that doesn`t go all ER,GA angst-heavy on us!

As a rule I don`t like the heavy dramas set in the legal & medical fraternities and I`m glad the likes of HT has found a niche among the less discerning viewers. Of course I might add the big drawcard is the ThorneField (cute!) dynamic and I for one hope they develop their ship slowly and believable as they do now.

So, give it try at least IMO it`s way better entertainment than to watch those dreadful "reality" shows the networks bombard us with!
