I only bothered to stay for the first musical number and the best supporting actress award, but it was all very fun. Hugh Jackman is awesome and I'm really glad that Heath Ledger won.
Hugh Jackman has been great! I've kind of enjoyed the musical numbers so far. Even this latest one for the best original song.
Love John Legend as well!! I haven't heard 'O Saya' yet but I love that 'Jai Ho' one! That and Latika's Theme are my favorite songs! :D
And I totally understand what you're talking about when it comes to a song that, really becomes a new character, throughout the film. Or it's just that connected to the storyline. There's a fundamental difference that you can feel between that kind of song as oppose to one that's just there for the sake of being there.
Just listened to and it does sound great! I was able to pretty much go back to the beginning of the movie and "see" it all over again if that makes sense. ^_^"
Okay, I'm not crazy - I didn't see Heath Ledger either.
I love Reese Witherspoon, but yes, her eye makeup was all kinds of crazy.
And Kate Winslet's whole speech just made me happy :-D My sister doesn't like her (wtf, right?) but I was totally geeking out about how fabulous she is.
Alright, yeah, not on the Reese-train, so I didn't know if it was just me, but the dark blue seemed unshaded and wonky and then it looked like her eyes were hollowed out with circles under them. It was just ghastly.
KATE WINSLET FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!! Oh wait, she did!! HAH!!!
Ah, my bad, totally forgot that he made last year's list. I really liked the five former actors thing as well. It's nice to hear praise like that from the people they probably respect the most. I truly, truly loved it. I hope they continue doing that, it's just great. I liked Angelina's jewelry Hey, to each their own, and Angelina obviously liked it and that's what matters most, I guess, LOL!
I take it from your icon that you were pleased with the best actor win?!

You must listen to "O Saya" -- here it is.
So glad that song thing made sense. I just didn't really realize it until the nominated song montage started.

Indeed I am. I was also pulling for Milk for Best Picture, but Slumdog is still good.
