Anyway, I simply accept the fact that I'm stuck with stupid Stefan but I'm hoping his two back to back lackluster showings continue. I knew Fabio was doomed. I'm glad he got a lot of good commentary but it was clear that he was doomed.
If only Hosea had sucked up the joint as much as he sucks up the tv screen. Sigh.
Pretty much agree with all you said. Stefan is turning into the Leah-style head-scratcher for me. Yes, he is gifted. Yes, he can do it. But can we please not give him the overall win on the sheer force of his reputation, past achievements and potential? Because if this is truly judged on the merit of a single given assignment, then he should have gone home last night. End of story. Forget his attitude (which is hard to, I know), he plain didn't do what he was assigned to do.
I was so tickled to see Jeff back! Good for him. I wasn't expecting a miracle, but I am genuinely happy that he has shown himself very well worthy of being there. In fact, if the restriction of "he has to win to stay" had not been imposed, the final three would have been Carla, Hosea, and Jeff. I could have happily lived with that.
And, honestly, I do really like Fabio but his contention that without him there, of course, Stefan would win, was really, really, really annoying.I know! That notion of "let's just give Stefan a trophy right now" is seriously starting

Yes, Fabio's meal didn't quite fit "Creole" style, but they didn't want to go back for Stefan's food and he made stew instead of gumbo ... in New Orleans. It seemed from the feedback that had they liked Fabio's one pasta dish better-arguably an item he should've been able to make perfectly, since it was a completely Italian dish-he would've stayed and Stefan would've gone. Which still would've been the 1st, 3rd and 4th place people going to the finale versus 1-2-3, but they had to do something to balance out Jeff being able to bust his way back in after having been cut
