Life on Mars -- so, soooo good

Nov 23, 2008 22:52

So I finally got around to watching Life on Mars from Thursday (last episode until January 28th ::sniff sniff::) and it was really, really, really good.

And I say this even with no Windy! )

I was NOT expecting this angle at all, it's so un-American-television-like

Ooh...fascinating observation. I didn't even think about it that way (but you're obviously correct in that this ep stayed pretty close to the original for the first 40 minutes).

Alas, I still am not feeling her and Sam, which is really a shame because that final scene between them should have been a heart-melting, rewind-worthy, this is what supercouples are made of moment and it just ... wasn't.

And in the original, it WAS, so I really wish they had changed the scene here somewhat. This Sam and Annie are just...not there yet (and I really think the lovely and talented Windy has a lot to do with that. Also: the fact that Annie has a boyfriend!?!)

Sigh...since they did such a good job changing things from the original, I wish they had changed that scene. Windy deserves the "I don't hate everything about this place" line. :pouts: ;)

Oh, about the preview: Was that Windy looking in the mirror as Sam stepped out of the showerIf that's not Windy, I'm a monkey's ( ... )

Ah, not surprised at all that how it went down here was UK-based simply because it was so un-American-TV like.

Yeah, the scene, the dialogue just does not work. I think that if they do get picked up (or if they time between eps), they need to realize that Annie can be there as a part of the cast, a great friend for him, but the love interest angle is just not really working. Especially when ...

THIS!

But yes, it was "it was a great hour of television." I loved it.
