That is an awesome overview. I'm going to drag my other comment over here from the other post. I definitely think that Veronica takes Logan's hands and puts them on her hips. He has a strong and sudden reaction to something she does before she puts her arms around his neck. He's smirking when he finishes the DD comment, and then suddenly his eyes widen and his mouth opens. And V is looking at his hands at that point.
I really wish the director hadn't framed the shot that way so we'd know for sure!
I'll keep an eye out for them, yeah, still down, but your last comment:

Is rather why I'm more inclined to think it didn't happen. Kretchmer did an amazing job this episode. It's literally the first time I've noted direction on this show (positively, I noted RT's crappy-ass direction). Everything was just so outstanding, I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't have framed that seeing as how if she did do that, it would be a fairly significant moment in that scene.
Either way, it's a significant moment. We should've been shown Logan's hands going to her hips, regardless of how they got there. That's a big part of why I thought the directing in that ep sucked and why I loved the directing in 16. That was why I was so into the L/H love scene, even tho it was Hannah. It was directed in such a way to maximize the emotion, and it was really effective. But in 17 we missed crucial pieces, like Logan's hands, and also there were no close-ups of L and V's faces to really see their reactions (which were often too hard to see in teh dark). I think the only reason the dance scene worked is because of the acting and the build-up for the shippers who've been dying for a moment like that. But I thought the director screwed us.
I guess we're looking at it differently. I loved the direction because of the atmosphere it built. I think that Kretchmer just trusted in the ability of his actors to sell what we needed to be sold without him attending to the small details which could lose the bigger picture. This was a MOMENT between them and the spotlights, the the room seeming to focus on them, the shot of them and the camera pulling away to spotlight them still magnified that moment and created this atmosphere of incredible tension.
I ffed through that stupid L/H scene, but the only way to have made it even remotely work was to do what the director did. That wasn't necessary with JD and KB in this scene. They have the chemistry, the talent and their characters have the history that everyone watching that scene knew exactly how deep the emotion was and the significance of what was happening here.
(And can we not discuss that icky scene any more, pretty please? I'm still trying to burn it out of my brain.)
I don't have a witty reply. All I can say is that you must be a mind reader because that's precisely what I thought of all those scenes. Thanks so much for the breakdown. ;D
I happened to be listening to "Sway" right when I got to that part of your post and the song lyrics matched as I was reading. Freaky.

I wish I had something useful to add, but I've not no more than one big fat WORD.
