Catherine Tate is, honestly, the best thing to happen to this new Who.

TRUTH. Donna is like, fucking perfection. I love her like I love ice cream. And like I loved this episode.

So glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. I love Nine; I love Ten; I love Rose. I FUCKING ADORE DONNA!

Hopping by from time_and_chips.
I have nothing much to add, except to say I totally agree with your Doctor/Rose analysis! Even though they had no interaction in this episode, my 'shipper-y self was full of glee. I loved that Rose didn't answer the question about her "relationship" with the Doctor. What they share(d) is so powerful that any explanation would fall short, in my mind. Perhaps that might explain her being tongue-tied.

I cannot wait to see what'll unfold next week -- the first Rose/Doctor encounter, and I'll be squee-ing like a fool. :D

And really words weren't necessary. It was just so obvious in her voice, in her body language, and most importantly, in her rexpression. Donna got it; no explanation was necessary.

Oh man, Doctor/Rose face to face next week?!?!? I'm dying. I can't believe they didn't show even a HINT in the trailer. GOD!!! (Unless, that was him looking at her on the monitor, but ah, not face to face.)

Thanks for stopping by, :)

I squeed too when I saw Billie's name in the credits. Imagine next week's, it is going to be very crowded. :D But in the best possibly way ever.

Way crowded. I really wonder how they're gonna do it. Honestly, I'd prefer to just see Doctor and the companions, maybe Jack, but really, I'd like to see the Doctor and his companions. That would be cool.

Love your icon, btw! I think mine is from the same shoot, LOL!

Isn't Jack considered a companion? John got his name in the credits in the end of season three. I think John, Freema, and Elisabeth will get their name in the credits. lol, they will just flash the names very quickly. I don't think the Torchwood gang or Luke will be in there.

Yep, I think the pic is from the same shoot. Billie is so pretty. :)

I guess he is, but I've never considered him one. I mean, to say he's a companion, one would have to give that title to Mickey too, and I wouldn't do that either. I know his name was there in S3 which is why I sorta expect it now, but I'd really just prefer the companions (including Elisabeth). But I expect Barrowman too. It will be a very crowded credits, it'll have to whiz by ... I do hope that Billie gets the "and" slot, though.

She is very striking and takes some fabulous photos!

I agree with much of what you said, but one tiny nitpick:

Not just because of what happened in World War II, but because of what happened even more recently in the United States with the Japanese Internment camps.

Those things happened at the same time--the internment of Japanese-Americans started after Japan attacked the US, after all.

Gah! I knew that. And I call myself a WWII expert. Sigh, I always did read up more on the European front. Editing my post. Oy.

I've no doubt it will all end in devastating pain, and my little shipper heart will be in a million shattered pieces on the floor at the end of this season, but I'm still grateful that RTD brought her back, always had planned to because seeing Rose again (and so thoroughly enjoying Billie's performance) will only make me appreciate the first two seasons all the more.

I am so with you here. Thrilled to see Rose, knowing this cannot have a happy ending, but wanting to see it played out just the same. Doomsday left me an absolute wreck - I can't imagine what I'm in for here.

Gosh, I know. It's going to be so, sooooooooo painful, but I have faith that RTD will do it in a good painful way. I mean "Doomsday" was incredibly painful, but the good kind of television-watching pain. It hurt because it was so good, so right in terms of the characters and the plot (having to service the actor leaving). So very well done. I expect the same from this two-parter.

Don't disappoint me, Russell!
