Dancing with the Stars (quick)

I gotta say that Helio is great, but he needs to lose the perma-smile; and as good as he and Julianne are, they don't have that perfect fit that Julianne and Apolo had, but then my Apolianne really were once in a blue moon. Sigh ( Read more... )

Jennie is cute but she's not my favorite. I still like Mel better I think. Especially since Mel and Maks are getting a bum deal. Stuck in the middle and Carrie Ann being a nitpickery biotch.

I was bored by Mel/Maks last week and once I heard the "singers" butchering my Kelly ("Breakaway" is one of my favorite songs by her -- and period! -- ever!) I couldn't watch the dance. Sorry.

But really, our favorites don't matter this year. You know it and I know it. Sabrina is going to win. With the unfairness of her background and the tongue-bath the judges are giving her and her substantial tween fanbase she's got this thing so ridiculously sewn up, it's not fair. So there's really no reason to root for our favorites, we're doomed to disappointment if it ain't Sabrina. Pffft.

True, true. But I still have to rant, it helps me dissapate my anger a little. I've been very, very disapointed in the dance world this year. First Sabra, now Sabrina. And the funny thing is I'm very much behind females doing well. But not in a blatant "this is a fix" way. I liked Lacey but in the end I really felt Danny should have won SYTYCD. And I simply - still- can not believe they gave that horrid paso a 30. It had no pace, nothing but her usual let me power my way through this moments.

I loathed that paso whereas I at least felt like the Jive was good even though it was professional.

Still I see very few people online who like her. I hope someone, anyone, can sneak it away.

True, sometimes ranting is necessary.

I agree that Danny should have won. The blatant fix is annoying. Honestly, I didn't even finish watching the Paso because I was so annoyed.

I would be so happy if Helio won (for Julianne, I admit it), Marie won, Jane won or Jennie won. See, I'm easy. One of those four and I am happy. Heck, I'd even be cool with Mel B. because she amuses me, is good and Maks is HOT!

To Sabrina, I say: not so fast! DwtS viewers don't take kindly to someone who does well out of the gate. A slow build usually wins DwtS. Unless they're planning some kind of redemption arc for Sabrina, I'm not sure she's got this locked up (the first 30 of the season actually sealed that for me).

I think you're right in terms of viewers like to see improvement, but hey! Apolo and Julianne got the first 30 of last season and they won! (WOOHOO!)

Jennie and Derek were awesome! That was their best dance yet. The song they had to dance to was terrible though. Hell, the entire set of songs last night was dreck. Anyway, Jennie was the one I was rooting for even before the show began because Kelly was my girl back during my 90210 watching days. :)

Agreed on Helio losing the perma-smile. It looked freaky when he was doing it while dancing. He better not be smiling when they do the paso doble. :\ But still, they were great. Go, Hough siblings!

It was their best dance, and yes a crappy song, but like Julianne, Derek is able to use such great choreography to make the dance work. Go Hough Siblings!!!

OHMYGOD!! I did NOT read your full post yet, I was responding to each paragraph at a time and did not see your "Go, Hough siblings!" HAH!!!! Too funny.

But yeah, he needs to lose the perma-smile. See, Julianne would actually have that a bit last season, but Apolo didn't and mostly pulled her back from that. With Helio and Julianne both doing that; oy, I worry for the should not be smiling numbers.
