Never have I been more happy to be a fan of Allison Janney. I never would have watched the movie were she not in it, and I'm so glad I did (and my sister is too). It was so much fun, so boppy and bouncy and utterly delightful. All of the casting was spot-on and wonderful

I looooved her. LOVED. I didn't see the Broadway version, but I thought her voice was just incredible!!! I can't believe she's only 18!!!
Allison Janney was awesome...I wish her part had been bigger. ;)
And it was so neat to see big group dance numbers that looked like they could've been ripped from an actual musical. I loved "Chicago," but they really made it more into a "movie with singing" than a musical itself. :/

Allison, of course, stole her very small role. It was funny because I remembered Allison saying on Ellen that she was the only one in the cast who didn't get to sing, and other than Jerry Stiller and Paul Dooley, it was pretty true, LOL!
You know I hadn't thought of it like that, but I DID think of how I could so see it on a stage.
Still, Chicago was still a musical and that I appreciate. I agree with my sister though who said that we truly won't get a resurgence of musicals until an original musical hits the theaters. Hopefully it will happen soon. I love musicals.
