The Arc of Logan and Veronica, Season Three

Feb 20, 2007 07:18

While typing up responses to my last Logan/Veronica post, I came to a clearer picture of where I think things are going and wanted to put it all together in some sort of cohesive form. Here is that attempt to do so ... ( behind the cut. )

Love your analysis! Completely agree with your premise that Logan and Veronica need to date Parker and Piz, respectively. To get where they need to be if they're going to have any hope of resolving anything in their relationship. I also love how you've laid out the series-long arc of Logan's character development in his relationships. Poor Logan. I just want to take him home and pet him.

I was frankly not happy when they got back together so quickly after the break, issues unresolved (though I have enough squeeing fangirl in me to appreciate that kiss). And I agree completely that Logan needed for Veronica to kick him once again for something he'd done but not necessarily done wrong, in order for him to see that the relationship has no hope of working unless something changes.

never bank on a theory that involves Veronica experiencing a moment of true self-realization. There's an empty epiphany and then there's self analysis and reflection. Your theory relies heavily on the kind of reflection Veronica isn't exactly known for ( ... )

Sigh and with the latest batch of spoilers -- it looks like while the set-up was there, it ain't going to happen.

Damnit!

Wha--? I haven't seen anything particularly disturbing except the whole permission thing. Is there something newer?

Oh yeah, there's a small ray of light in them, but not much. Basically in 19 Logan/Parker appear to still be dating (even though JG isn't in the episode) as he's talking to her on the phone about frequent flyer miles to visit over the summer and V/P are still dating, have cutesy/romantic moments and are making out on Piz's bed, when it turns "hot and heavy." The small ray of light is that Logan is clearly not over Veronica, Piz is not what he seems (but he's not evil), Logan is a GOOD kind of OPJ again, Logan/Veronica have one short, awkward scene and at the end of the ep, hope springs eternal for Logan/Veronica.

The bad totally outweighs the good.
