Shopping to Send a Samurai to Suffolk (to be continued, TBA!)

Suffolk University (in Boston) told incoming freshmen last spring that housing info would be sent out in mid-July. It was delayed repeatedly (I called a poor work-study student in Residence Life office twice this month, worried it had gotten lost in the mail -- and while I personally did not drive him nuts, he probably got many calls like mine).

Sounds like a very productive and successful weekend! I can only imagine the chaos of moving a child to college in downtown Boston! It's tough enough when there's a campus in a metro area. Thankfully, the colleges have done it before!

We got housing info at the end of July for Z. He's leaving on September 4. We just started collecting the stuff for him! We are just trying out the SKYPE account he got so that he can stay in visual contact.

Our loft has become the staging area. The best find yet was a packaged set of surge protector and electrical outlet expander.

OU provides refrigerator and microwave which is GREAT! He's in a triple.

When does she leave and are you ready for her to be away? :-) I am nervous about Z. taking off....

They made Samurai wait a long time to find out. The two of you did great shopping. You might want to get a bucket for shower stuff. They are handy for putting in all the stuff you need in the shower room.

That's what the shower caddy is for.

Ahh freshman year. So exciting and new. Both my girls are graduating in May but I remember the fun we had shopping and setting up the first room. Have fun with it.

I was an only-child, too, and I simply can't imagine sharing a room with three other girls for more than a night or two. I didn't need to worry about that when I went to college. I was married by then and just came home from classes and slept with my husband!

I'm the only child of an only child -- and have an only child! So the share-a-bedroom-nicely-with-sibs gene has left the gene pool! :D
