God bugs you just kill me everytime and I love it!! I write some fluffy, sweet stuff and then you hit me over the head a hundred times to knock me back to reality with yours!! LOL!! This is fantastic and nothing like the reunion scene I wrote. Hmmmm! Love/hate your descriptions of Laura, too real and I don't want to go there.
Bill, so sweet with his "take more than Zarek to chop the head off this old rooster". Also love the "I was ready to kill everyone if one man couldn’t live" line, just wonderful. Love her resentment that she thought he was dead.
And great last line of course, no it wasn't their day to die. Thank the gods, they deserved a little happiness. See my drabble for a fuzzy light moment that came the day after this. Fantastic work!!
I couldn't help myself! You give us something uplifting as a prompt and I naturally see an angsty moment.
I'm sure the reality of Laura was going to do must have hit home sometime.
The Oath and Blood on the Scales are truly my favorite shippy episodes for the intensity of their emotions. I'm shocked that the writers actually gave them that reunion scene, but it kills me every time!
I guess this was the point they truly lived for themselves and stopped being the democratic leaders. What frak it all, they deserved it. Even if she was going to blow up a ship.
I had faith that you would write a great drabble, and you did.
It's rough to write this so unlovely love affair, I admit. One of the things I LOVE about Bill is how he seems to see her physical damage and yet love her regardless. He may be in denial about her fate, but I've rarely seen such love as EJO projects towards Laura in her terrible state. His moment of resentment is when she looks good, and flushed, because he knows it will take her away from him all the sooner.
gods, i LOVE this scene in the show SO MUCH, and have been looking for fics to do it justice, but only few ever manage. this is one of them. a moment of unflinching, desperate love, clinging on to those few moments they have together, despite everything. and the constant touching to reassure each other that they are, indeed, still there - so poignant, so good, so true, so heartbreaking.
For whatever reason, I love writing A/R touching each other. Perhaps because they had to not touch so much, and yet when they had the chance, the slight touch had such emotional weight.
Wow! angsty, raw, desperately real and very Bugs! I think that this is the most believable Blood On The Scales reunion scene I have read... and I have read many ; ) The beauty of your cutting realism just crushed my heart but boy did you nail this challenge! Loving In The North Sky too- I am sorry I haven't got around to commenting there. Great stuff on both accounts Bugs.

I just thought the proper drabble would have been more cheerful, but their faith takes some much battering in season four, it seemed like a good spot to use it.

LOL! I understand. No worries. I can sense the lurking readers, even without comments. :D

After all her loss, she really thought she had it beat. She was going to die first...and then Bill goes off with his big gun! Bastard!

Oh, definitely, I think lots of intense sexing too place after Blood on the Scale, with a range of emotions. Happy can come next! :D

You know it’d take more than Zarek to chop the head off this old rooster. So Bill! I can soooo see him saying this!

The resentment, the despairity, the reality it all just kills me.
“The moment that Raptor lifted off, I regretted leaving you. If we were going to die today, I didn’t want us to be apart.”
I wasn’t supposed to die first. It took her so long to let me in and now she can’t let me out of her heart.
I love these, and I believe she really felt this way in those scenes.
