I have written my very first "Pirates of the Caribbean" story. It's a romance featuring James and Elizabeth with minor appearences by other characters. The poetry bit is my own and it's style was inspired by the movie "A Knight's Tale". So without any further ado, here it is. Comments are welcome.

A lovely fic- I would swoon if James wrote me a letter like that. I like the touch at the end that he actually got to discover that her lips were soft as he had described them.
Elizabeth's last few lines were very enjoyable to read and certainly in character.
I feel sorry for James having to do reports all the time-especially when the paperwork relates to the good men he lost. :(
Two of my fav. lines:
If he had done that as his instincts had told him to, she would be looking dreamy eyed at him, something he wanted very much
It made him come across as boring and he suspected Elizabeth loathed boring with a passion.
Lovely first fic! I shall be back to read more of your stuff. :D

Writing reports of the death of crew members that died under your command is one of the hardest things a captain (or commodore) has to do. And if it's several that died at the same time it's even harder. I still remember the look of anguish on Matt Decker's face when he lost his crew (in a classic star trek episode - most of my "experience" with the military is from star trek, but it easily crosses over to POTC. Kirk was always commanding a tall ship in his heart anyway).
I added you to my friend's list as well... And I hope you enjoy the other stories I've written as well.

And yes, that would certainly be the hardest part of his job (well, aside from actually watching them die). Poor James.
Do you know if anyone has explored this concept in greater depth? I would be interested to read a fic about how James copes with that kind of stuff. (Is life never happy and easy for poor James? *sniff*)
I've never seen Star Trek but I could imagine that it would relate nicely. It's the same concept except in the future anyways. ;)
Ooo, yay- friends we be now! :D I don't write a lot of Norribeth- just so you know. I usually rant and rave about various British actors and life. Heh.
