Hee. I wondered when/if you'd find Liz Carlyle. :)

I'm in the process of acquiring all her novels...just as soon as I can hunt them down in the wilds of online bookstores...

I've recently developed a fondness for Madeleine Hunter's "Rarest Blooms" series, starting with 'Ravishing In Red' and going on to 'Provocative in Pearls'. THe next one is due out in...October I think.

Haha! I know, right? I almost feel bad that it took me this long to discover the awesomeness of her cos god knows I've been seeing her books on shelves for yonks and every time thinking "no, she'll be another Stephanie Laurens and I CANNA TAKE THAT!" Only because there are so many of her books, y'realise. *lol* Snob that I am.

I'm actually quite curious about what Liz Carlyle's got coming out ... I haven't seen any news!

Oh christ, seriously? I bought one Madeline Hunter book, Lessons In Desire, and couldn't get even a quarter in, it was annoying me so much. Maybe I'll give it another go. Maybe she's improved in recent times.

I don't know how good or bad she used to be - I found myself enjoying 'Ravishing...'

Although, truly, it might just be that here's a romance with an actual plot to it that might halfway stand up to scrutiny!

The second book - 'Provocative...' - doesn't have quite the same degree of plot, and the resolution is a little...simplistic. But it hit one of my BIG trope kinks - one that I rarely really see outside of fanfic and often badly done there - so I hold a fondness for it. :D

Jesus Christ, Sel, what sort of romances are you reading if the plots don't stand up to scrutiny?!

And ooh, what trope? I so totally have my own so it's always fascinating to hear others.
