Other authors I've been reading in between have ranged from excellent to fucking awful gouge-my-eyes-out.

Celeste Bradley shitted me so badly that I don't think I even finished the book. Clumsily written, irritating characters, and look I was so annoyed I've forgotten everything else about the book. Duke Most Wanted I think it was ( Read more... )

But one thing I'll say about Rachel Gibson: she has made it blindingly clear that I utterly loathe romances set in modern America.

Have you read any Jennifer Crusie? Some of her stuff is mediocre, but a couple of her books - especially Bet Me are funny, adorable and totally hot.

Ah, I've read just one, Faking It and god that was crass, with a particularly annoying hero and far too much 'mystery' plot for my rarified tastes. :p Pretty much the only thing I liked about it was the referencing of old Hollywood starlets.

Hrm. Having read the synopsis for Bet Me, I'll keep it in mind but the mention of Krispy Kreme has put me off already. Crass American tastes! *lol*
