when roland has a good song to sing, his voice is just incredible. i know i've told you before that, when they came to DC, the Washington Post's reviewer mentioned the "operatic sweep" of his voice. funny that, on The Hurting, he let curt star vocally. he has a pleasant voice, but roland has the gift.

Yeah, it was prolly a matter of confidence. It's funny you should say that about operatic voices cos a similar thing's been said about Joan Wasser and she herself said that it took a long while for her to let herself go, to really build up confidence in that big big voice.

Mind you, I wouldn't put it past Roland to think himself the musical genius behind the voice sort of thing back then when they were young lil pretentious snots. Bless 'em. Hee.
