You know what I really love? I love that DVD version of Superstar. The one where Jesus looks a little like a better looking Craig McLoughlin and Judas swans around in leather. Have you seen it? I don't know if it's on purpose or not, but it basically comes across as if to say that 2000 years of religion was based on a lovers quarrel. The kiss at Gethsemene...disturbingly hot.

I feel I should be ashamed that this is my entire contribution to your post...but I'm not. *grin*

Was it red leather? And Judas was black and Mary Magdalene Asian? I think that's the movie version. Yeah, kinda loathed it --- horrible unpretty Seventies aesthetic --- but omg I totally got the slashiness, YES!

*lol* Tis verrah valuable contribution, as is anything slashy and possibly blasphemous! ♥

Ack! No!

It's this version: http://www.amazon.com/Jesus-Christ-Superstar-Glenn-Carter/dp/B000056NX5/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1196602333&sr=1-2

A recent, somewhat modernised one, in which Simon Zealotes runs about with machine guns. Which sounds awful, but actually works in the context of the production. I am lending. *firm*

Dude, that sounds AWESOME!! Man, I wish it was the same cast as my West End revival double album ... but woah, can't wait to see this.

Hey, did you know Geoffrey Rush will be joining our Tom Stoppard talk? Way cool, huh? :p

Ahhh, I see that as I type this you're watching lovely Mullins in Vienna Woods. Sigh, Mullins.
