This is such a lovely album.Deceptively beautiful is the term. You could totally write it off as easy listening jazz fluff. Until you read the words and that under the silvery sounds and sweet harmonies and comfortable percussion, it's really quite dark and a little bit depressive ( Read more... )

yeah, when i was listening to the demos at the site, i quit during one song where he was all high and wavery. but the music was really nice.

depressive, eh? oh dear, he has angst?

Oh yeah, definite angst, but far less aggressive compared to Our Raoul. Considering the very first song on the album is titled Perfect Day and the chorus actually goes today's a perfect day to blow myself away and that the song Addict is very much like Joe's Glue Sniffer, only with one line: i know something, i know something about pain ... yep, definite angst.

No wonder I can't stop listening to it. *snort*
