John being re-assigned is always a possibility, now that they are on Earth.... now that Atlantis is a visible asset, the military would want someone more.... proper.... in charge.

It was the fact that John might be reassigned that sparked this ficlet... I watched Rising again, and got to thinking about Sumner and his marines and thought so they would probably replace John with a Marine Colonel.

Yes, Rodney does... sometime good, sometimes not so good. LOL
