I read somewhere today that there was a poll as to who was the greatest president. Reagan somehow managed to win, with 20%, while FDR and Lincoln 'scraped by' on 16% of the vote. dude, I have nothing against Reagan, I'm sure he did a great job of, what's the term, maintaining the status quo. But FDR saved us from the Great Depression AND World War II, established Social Security, and loved fuzzy bunnies. Can't beat that, can you?

Well, I think did anything but Maintain the Status Quo. Putting the Soviet Union on the path to defeat is hardly status quo. Also, remember that he was the first president in 35 years at that point to cut taxes, reform the tax code, and actually propose reducing spending levels. He even engaged in a huge military build up in peacetime, and so, I think he was anything but a status quo type ( ... )
