I. The next five rules should go without saying, but, be civil towards other players and avoid unnecessary wank. If problems arise, do try to
contact the mods for help before you do anything drastic. Talking it out is often much less of a hassle than weaving a conspiracy.
II. Try your best to write legibly. No one expects Nobel Prize quality, but since roleplay relies heavily on words, it's recommended to be able to communicate your ideas properly. That includes proper use of punctuation, spelling and grammar.
III. IC actions = IC consequences. Obviously, everything your character does will have some sort of reaction from the other characters, so keep that in mind when you do something that might have a big impact on developments. There's always the possibility of retconning something if all players agree that you've reached a dead end, but let's not abuse that option too much.
IV. IC =/= OOC. Try not to blur the IC/OOC line. Just because a character is a mean jerk to yours doesn't mean the player has a problem with you. On the other side, try not to use your character to voice complaints you as player have and don't want to address personally. Characters should stay in character at all times.
V. Godmoding and metagaming are not allowed. For clarification, godmoding means that you decided on the action of another player's character without their consent (ie. posting about their character being shot by yours when the player never agreed to it, etc.) Metagaming includes using OOC knowledge when your character should not be aware of it (i.e. Light Yagami is Kira, but characters who have never met him can't know that he kills people on regular basis, even if the player does). Neither are allowed in any form.
VI. This DR is not age rated, so everyone can join. However, posts that contain adult material should be friends-locked and labeled as such. Everyone participating in such posts should be old enough to do so.
VII. To speak OOC, for plotting purposes or simply to chat with fellow players, there's our AIM chatroom apurgatorium. Feel free to invite yourself at any time and talk (or remain in awkward silence).
VIII. As this is just a dressing room, activity checks will not happen. However, player effort and participation are the key to keeping this place alive, so try to tag around in order to help keep things going.
IX. Be sure to check the
FAQ for further information on setting, game mechanics and other issues. We reserve the right to answer any questions already answered in the FAQ with "Read the FAQ". If there is still something that's unclear,
comment there or
contact a mod and we'll work it out as soon as we can.
X. And most importantly: Have fun!
