Gilbert feels like he owns this city. He knows it, he's part of the most dangerous organisation that controls it (whichever one it happens to be at the moment), he's lived there almost all his life. He can't be hurt in this place.

He's too smart to be caught by that fucking landwhale Ivan, and he's too important to the Italians to be hurt. All the other ones, well, he's got guns.

So dark alleys mean nothing to him. Or, well, they won't mean anything to him for another few minutes. After that, he'll have to seriously reconsider his opinion.

........ WELL ABOUT THAT byelorussiya February 16 2010, 22:04:28 UTC
It's his over confidence that's going to lead him to his end, or at least that's what Belarus is counting on. She separated from the dogs - they were trained well enough to follow her command.

So she let them wait at the end of the ally behind him as she moved to intercept him at the entrance - waiting for him to notice her.

Well, he still thinks he's on top of the world. He doesn't think the sounds behind him are a big deal-- dogs're everywhere, people are everywhere, he'll shoot 'em all if they give him any shit.

Belarus, however, well... She's a different basket of apples entirly. But he refuses to show that to her.

"Hey, boss," he says, hands in his pockets, grin on his face. "What a nice surprise. What do I owe the pleasure to?"

megs doesn't know what she's talking about byelorussiya February 16 2010, 22:17:41 UTC
He should have paid attention to the dogs hanging around Belarus back at the headquarters, but it's a bit late for that now.

"Do not act stupid."

Belarus has no tolerance for idiots, even less for idiotic traitors. If Gilbert was going to test her patience, he'd regret it for however long he was alive.
