“Eri, what are you listening to?” Ueda asked. He had his specs on. Papers full of musical notes and lyrics stretched out on the desk in front of him. He has been staring blankly at the papers for a while now. All the brilliant ideas simply disappeared into smokes. He can’t think of a good lyric, thus he eyed his daughter who sat on the kitchen counter, listening to her ipod.
“Hana no mau machi,” she replied indifferently. Ueda sighed. Oh, lyrics…
“Change it, sweetheart,” he said sweetly. His daughter listening to his song didn’t help with his writer’s block.
“Why? I love mama’s songs.”
“Listen to other song, Eri,” Ueda asked again. Eri pouted but proceed to click some buttons on her ipod and continued listening. Ueda get back to his musing. Still, nothing came out of his mind.
“What are you listening to now?” Ueda asked, defeated.
“Code,” the girl answered.
“Not good, change it back,” Ueda ordered. His tone changed. He was a little furious now, instead of being blank.
“Mama!” Eri raised her voice and stomped all the way to her bedroom.
Ueda sighed again. He took off his specs and lied down. His ideas were not here, his daughter angry and left, Ryo constantly or always not here. Ryo…Ryo..
It’s already morning. Ueda remembered he got lots of works to be done today. He wanted to get up and washed but Ryo got his arms around Ueda waist preventing him to move.
“Don’t go to work,” Ryo said in his hoarse morning voice.
“I can’t. KAT-TUN got lots to do today,” Ueda refused. That got Ryo to fully woke up.
“I dump all my work behind and left Osaka in a hurry yesterday just to be with you and yet, you are going to work your ass off today?” Ryo retorted angrily.
“I’m not the one who left his family for months and didn’t even care to fucking call!!” Ueda was so angry with Ryo sudden change of mood. He got up completely from the bed, didn’t bother to get dress.
“I work to death just for my family. For Eri, for you. Especially for you! I’m trying to be responsible here!”
“So, act like a responsible person! Quit Kanjani and stay at Tokyo!”
“What?! What the fuck are you saying?”
“Or being rich is more important to you? Is one group is not enough?” Ryo expression changed.
Ueda remembered the hurt expression on Ryo’s face after their argument that morning. That’s why he can’t focus until today. He tried to console himself by thinking that Ryo was the one at fault. Ryo indeed left that very morning back to Osaka after Ueda had left to the jimusho.
But Ueda knew it was not all Ryo fault. From Eri hard to understand story, Ryo actually kneeled in front of his little princess and apologized for abandoning her for a long time. Ryo brought Eri to the park, bought for her toys, presents, ice cream, anything she want and lifted her all the way to daycare when she fallen asleep., obviously skipping school along the way. Ueda admitted he forgot about Eri when he got to work that morning, only to get a call from Cindy that Ryo brought in sleeping Eri. “Like a real father!” Cindy said cheerfully.
Ueda immediately got up and walked towards Eri’s room. Ueda want to knock but found the door was not closed. Eri lifted her head a little from the bed when she heard Ueda walked in.
“Its akirerukurai bokura ha negaou,” she said while patting the place next to her for Ueda to sit.
“What?”
“The song. Its papa’s but not papa’s,” Eri answered. Ueda brought Eri’s head to his chest and kiss her forehead.
“Do you miss papa?” Eri nodded slowly.
“What do you think of a visit to Osaka?” Eri face lit up. She sat straight and beamed at Ueda. Ueda smiled too, without Eri to say it, he knew it all. They were family after all.
“Well, he’s the sexy Osaka man. He belongs to Osaka and Osaka we come.”

“You cannot do like that, Yasu!” Ryo scolded, pointing at Yasuda’s dance step. They were practicing for the show tomorrow where they actually had been practicing for hours already. Everybody has learned the steps by heart but Ryo still not satisfied with the result. Yasu tried the steps again.
“No, you’re wrong!!” Ryo shouted again.
“Spare the boy, Ryo. Everyone was tired already,” Hina said from where he sat. Ryo just glared at him and went to pack his things.
“Ryo-chan~” Ohkura called while galloping into the room, ignoring completely the strange aura surrounding the black haired man.
“Someone here to see you!” he said almost too cheerful again. Ryo looked at Ohkura at last. The others in the room looked at the tall boy too, curious to see who it is.
At the time Ueda walked into the room with Eri followed behind him shyly. Ryo gasped. Loud enough for everyone to hear.
“Oh, it’s Ueda and Eri!” Subaru said, breaking the silence. Ryo sure missed his two angels that he wants to cry seeing them here but he can’t bring himself to move.
“Papa,” Eri small voice calling for him was a wake up call for him to do something. Ryo ditched his things and walked towards them. He lifted Eri and hugged Ueda tight; inhaling his scent that he missed so much. Eri put her hands around Ryo’s neck and kissed his cheeks repeatedly.
“I miss you so much, hime,” Ryo said and proceed to kiss Eri next. The whole k8 members watched them in awe.
“I want to have a family too,’ Yoko whined.
“A beautiful wife and a very cute child like Eri. She’s so cute,” Subaru dreamed out loud.
“Ryo-chan was really fast in changing behavior when with us and his family,” Yasu said suddenly. The others nodded at Yasu and when they looked back, the trio has disappeared.
“Eh? They are gone!” Maru proclaimed.
“Hayai!” Ohkura said and grinned.
Ryo drove Ueda and Eri to his apartment after taking them to dinner and some shopping. In his apartment, Ryo put Eri into a room which he obviously reserved for his daughter. Ueda who followed him was touched seeing the decoration in the room. Ryo did his utmost to decorate the room for Eri although they never stay over or will never get to stay. The wall was painted purple, Eri’s favorite color when the rest of the house remains white. On one side of the wall, facing the bed was a collection of pictures of Ueda, Ryo and Eri. While the bed itself was full of plushies and dolls. Ueda imagined Ryo walked alone in Toy ‘R Us buying dolls for Eri which the girl won’t get to play with. He didn’t get to be with his daughter and what Ueda did every time he came home? Scolding him. Ueda felt so miserable and guilty.
He stood at the entrance silently watching Ryo. Ryo kissed Eri forehead gently and lifted the blanket higher covering her shoulder. When his gaze fell on Ueda, Ueda looked away. He can’t bring himself to meet Ryo’s gaze. It’s as if Ryo was blaming him for something he was unsure of. Suddenly, he felt Ryo fingers clasping with his hand and lead him to Ryo’s bedroom. Once Ryo closed the door behind him, he pushed Ueda roughly on the wall but didn’t kiss him. He slid his arms behind Ueda’s back and rested his face on his shoulder. Ueda hugged him back on the shoulder and they stay like that for a while.
“I’m sorry but I have show early morning tomorrow,” Ryo said.
“I know. Ohkura already told me. Don’t worry, I’m driving so we will go back first thing in the morning,” Ueda said reassuring him. Hearing that made Ryo more and guiltier than before. He lifted his head and look at Ueda.
“Take me tonight,” Ryo said suddenly.
“Huh?” Ueda can’t believe his ears.
“Make love to me, please,” Ryo plead. Ueda stared, perfectly aware of Ryo’s intention.
“You have to dance tomorrow,” Ueda stated, just so not to crush the younger man high pride. Ryo didn’t reply. He kept on looking at Ueda, unwavering. Ueda pushed Ryo until he lied down on the bed.
“I will be gentle,” Ueda whispered.

“Good morning!” Ueda greeted everyone in KAT-TUN room cheerfully. He was feeling so high today. After he got back from Osaka, the ideas for his lyrics flow like water. He was happy with the result. In KAT-TUN room that morning when Ueda enter was Kame, Jin and Yamapi.
“Good morning tat-chan,” Kame greeted him back, smiling.
“Ne tat-chan, Ryo came in today,” Jin said suddenly.
“Eh, wasn’t Ryo still at Osaka?” Ueda asked confused.
“He went straight to Johnny-san. Saying something about asking Johnny to let him quit Kanjani8. Bad joke,” Yamapi said laughing his ass off.
“What?! He can’t be!” Ueda shouted.
“Relax. That idiot won’t quit,” Jin said. Kame, seeing Ueda’s restlessness knew immediately it’s not that simple.
“Shut up Jin. You too Yamapi, he is serious,” Kame said to his ignorant friends.
“Who is serious?” Jin asked dumbly.
“Your so-called best friend, Nishikido Ryo is serious,” Kame answered sternly.
“Eh?!” Jin turned to Ueda but he has already gone.
Ueda ran to where Johnny office is as fast as possible that he didn’t realize and bumped into someone. When his butt met the floor did he calm down. The other also was on the floor, messaging his throbbing side. Ueda took a good look at him and surprised to see that it was Ryo.
“Ryo!” he shrieked and jumped on him all of a sudden.
“Tatsuya, what the hell?” the smaller black haired man who was tackled off guard was now pinned on the floor.
“Ryo, please, please don’t quit. I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it. I was just angry,” Ueda blurted out what in his mind without giving the other chances to even breathe properly.
“Tatsuya…hime, calm down!” Ryo tried to say.
“I don’t want! I won’t let you go. I regretted saying it. Please don’t quit Kanjani…”
“It’s too late already!” Ryo interrupted him making him to shut up. His eyes widened in shock. He was too shocked to say anything.
“Hime…”
“But Johnny-san won’t let you, right? I mean, aren’t you like…the star of the group? No, this can’t be,” Ueda was full of doubt of his own question. His grip at Ryo’s hand loosened and slowly gets off him.
Ryo got up and forced Ueda to get up too. Then, he dragged him into one of the empty room there and locked the door. Ryo pinned the confused man to the wall, intentionally pressed closer against his body until he can hardly breath. Ryo smirked.
“So what to do now? This is all your fault,” Ryo said. He tried his hard to suppress the laughter. He was absolutely enjoying this. The room was dark thus they can’t really see each other but Ryo can feel Ueda squirming under him.
“Ryo, I…”
“Everyone in eito was so upset when I told them my decision,” Ryo cut him again, faking his sadness.
“I’m really sorr…”
“And its all because of you,”
“Ryo, liste…”
“JUST for you. Do you realize what have you done?” Ryo said, getting more and more excited with his act. He thought he should get Oscar for this. He cupped Ueda’s cheek and leaned closer the others was trembling. Ryo started to get worried.
“Ryo, I’m so sorry!! This is all my fault, please don’t get angry with me!” and he burst into tears. Ryo was not so sure now. His joke has taken the wrong turn.
“Babe, calm down. I’m just joking,” Ryo frantically tried to calm him down but Ueda was not listening. He was crying so hard to comprehend what Ryo said.
“I don’t know what to do. Maybe it’s best if we break up. But, let me take Eri. Ne, Ryo?” Ryo shook Ueda’s face trying to get his attention.
“NO! What is this about breaking up? Ueda Tatsuya, I’M JOKING!” Ryo actually shouted at his face.
“Eh?” fortunately that got his attention and he stop crying.
“I’m just joking. Johnny-san told me to think more about it. He didn’t approve it yet,” Ryo said in very serious tone. Play time was over. Full stop.
“Really?” Ueda asked.
“Yes, no one know. Oh, Jin and Pi know but they just brushed it off *shrugs* but no one is sad. I’m just kidding.”
“You tricked me?” Ueda asked again in the cute innocent tone of his.
“Yes, but you are so cute when you worried over me.”
Suddenly, out of nowhere in the dark, Ueda super-deadly-punch gotten its way to Ryo’s handsome-cover-by-insurance face and the short not-so-handsome-anymore-idol stumbled to the floor, a good 0.5 meters from where he previously standing. ‘Kanpeki!’ Ueda’s mind shouted in victory.
“Oii, fucking bitch!!!” Ryo cursed when his valuable body parts being smacked for the second time today. Not to mention very hurt too. Note to himself: Ueda is half cyborg.
“First, I’m not cute! Second, I’m not a bitch either! Last, go fuck yourself, BAKA!!! Serve you right!” Ueda screamed and went off to find the exit in the dark.
“I love you too, honey! Wait for me, kay? Say hello to Eri!” Ueda slammed the door shut from outside when he heard Ryo shouted.
“I’ll be back in two weeks! Prepare yourselves, babe!! Love you!!!”
Ueda smiled.

Ueda cracked open the door to his daughter’s room. Eri was preparing to sleep. She was already big enough to sleep by herself.
“Eri-chan, can I sleep with you tonight?” Ueda asked. Eri’s mouth curled into the big smile that Ueda haven’t seen for years. The smile where her big black eyes will close completely and all her white teeth shown and reminded him of someone that he loves so much and currently landed a punch on. Ueda’s heart fluttered.
“Of course, mama!” she chirped happily and took Ueda’s hand. Ueda followed his daughter and soon they both lied down on the big bed side by side. Eri moved closer and wrapped her small arms around Ueda’s waist and leaned her head to Ueda’s chest.
“Mama is so warm,” Eri mumbled with her eyes closed. Ueda brought his hand to the back of Eri’s head and wrapped her small body completely in his protective arm.
“You’re a big girl already. I’d always thought you should stop acting like I’m your mother,” Ueda said.
“Mama doesn’t like Eri anymore?”
“No, its just…you must understand the concept of male and female relationship already. Like, i'm a male, you are a female..sort of... and we are not related by anything, a complete stranger.”
“Mama, you are so bad at lying. If you think I’m a stranger, you won’t sleep with 9 years old teenage girl, who is not that small anymore.” Ueda frowned hearing that.
“Ahh, Eri. You sound like your father. He always said I’m bad at lying. He always teases me,”
“That’s why you love him, right?” Eri said giggling.
“Eri, you are still too early to talk about love!” Eri get up, picked her hairbrush and pointed it at Ueda’s face.
“So, do you love my father?” Eri talked all superior. Ueda blushed. Being asked something like that by owns daughter was something that has never been heard of.
“Aren’t we supposed to be sleeping?” Ueda pouted, dodging the question.
“Mama, don’t pout! Answer Eri please!”
“Why everyone bearing Nishikido name is like this? Stop teasing me!”
“Mister, your name also should be Nishikido Tatsuya already,” the genius Eri said. Ueda was dumbfounded at the statement. It should be like that, right? Well, he never thinks about it actually. Ueda looked at Eri. The girl was a splitting image of Ryo. She was definitely a Nishikido. So, is he? Ahh, Ueda sighed. His pout became worst than before.
“I guess in my case, it’s not like that,” he said, from under that blanket.
“But, to think of it, papa is rarely home. Eri understand if mama didn’t love papa. But, don’t stop being Eri’s mother. Mama is my mother forever.” Ueda popped out from under the blanket.
“You always jump into the worst conclusion ever. I thought I’m the only one like that,” he said and went to hide under the blanket again before he continue,
“It doesn’t matter if he always away. I know he loves me and that’s the only thing matter to me.” Eri quickly sneaked under the blanket with Ueda.
“You’re my mother, that’s why my behavior is like you. He is my father, that’s why I sound like him. Both of you are my parents, zutto! Zutto! There’s no mistaking that.”
Ueda hugged Eri again and said, "Clever girl, that's my daughter. I'm so not letting you go from my side," he said. eri giggled.
"Okay, let's sleep," the small girl said.
"I should be the one who said that. I'm your mother!" Ueda whined.
"Okay, mama. say it," Ueda was pleased.
"Honey, lets go to sleep,"
"Yeah, yeah. I love you,"
"I love you too, so, so much."
OWARI! sorry, weird ending T_T...
