Jinx had gotten into Wally's clothes drawer to borrow a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. She hadn't yet gotten more clothes, and she hadn't wanted to ruin the ones she came to this strange place in. Besides, he wouldn't need this yellow shirt and red shorts right away...would he? Because she'd already gotten some paint on her.
"Good," she said, putting the paintbrush down on the paint tray of gothic purple paint. She wiped her paint-spotted hands on the shorts, then rubbed them together. "Pretty good. I've got the walls, and the ceiling, done." Proof of this were the spots of purple paint in her bright pink hair from when some paint had dripped onto her.
"Impressive," He laughed, sideways glancing at the walls before returning his attention to her. Huh... she was wearing his stuff. No big deal; he was used to his friends borrowing stuff for sleepovers.
The bulletin board would still go along with everything! It wouldn't be a setback. "I brought pizza. You wanna go ahead and eat some while we wait for everything to dry?"
Jinx stepped over the paint tray, barefoot spotted with paint also, nodding her head. "Sounds good to me. You got the vegetable pizza I like, right? Or did the pizza place somehow only have cheese?"
"I don't know," He teased, leaning in to kiss her on the cheek. "I felt like being adventurous and getting veggie and barbecue chicken."
Stepping over the paint tarp, he then quickly hid the bulletin board in his room - can't have the girlfriend seeing that quite yet! - before he came back in a second with the pizza boxes. "You wouldn't mind that, would you?"
Oh? He perked up, leaning in to listen to her. "Really? Congratulations! I'll have to visit you sometime."
Not that he was the world's biggest fan of coffee - that trait belonged to Aunt Iris - but he'd certainly try it if Jinx asked him. Still grinning, he said, "It's not too far, is it? I know Nikeboru and Lakai aren't exactly next door neighbors or anything..."
"I can walk just fine," she shrugged her shoulders. In reality, she realized that to make her shifts, she'd have to leave an hour ahead of time to get all the way from Nikeboru to Lakai. Or you could take the job at Nikeboru's Hot Cup of Explosion instead, a little thought told her.
Wally thought about it for a moment. The pink doors that connected Nikeboru and Lakai weren't very close by... but what if...
"Vasi," He crossed his arms. "Can you charm pink doors? Because I'm totally fine with fixing the broom closet in the hall," - he was referring to the abandoned one in the hallway of their complex no one used - "and setting that up as a portal to Lakai near your workplace. It'd make your life a hell of a lot easier, considering I wouldn't have to drop you off every morning..."
"...and you dropping me off at work has always been so pleasant in the past," Jinx muttered. They'd once tried the entire drop-off thing back home, when after a date -- which was usually interrupted by some moron trying to rob the museum, bank, or other important building that brought revenue to the city -- there's been Kid Flash fangirls waiting at the coffee shop.
And Jinx hadn't been happy about having to explain away the reason why to jealous pre-teens who'd almost bit her head off once.
"I'll think about it. Look into the charm thing a little more."
