❇ BASIC PREMISE ❇
Lured into a world where only memories and the clothes on your back serve as a reminder of who you were, you find yourself now on a mission to try and remember your name. For without a name, how can you say you are who you think you are? Names are the essence of everyone's being: without one, you are nothing.

But the task is not as simple as it might seem. You are trapped in a world where emotions fuel the greater beings that control it: the Eidolons. Mythical beings void of emotion, they crave the emotions and desires that make up the human being. That is why you were brought here. What is worse, they are in the midst of a power struggle and need your emotions to help increase their power. If you serve their purpose and provide the required emotions, they will not only tell you your name, but also return you home.

Simple isn't it? Just fill that crystal with emotional fluid, turn it in, and go home. You wouldn't want to be like colorless drones that fill each city, do you?

Now if only you weren't also busy trying to survive random pitted battles, strange city-based events, and using those very emotions you need for just everyday living.

Aprigen is a multifandom game that utilizes both Final Fantasy and various Alice in Wonderland AU themes. It essentially involves two specific concepts: the sense of identity and the human emotion. Each play a crucial role in Aprigen as characters seek to regain their identity while trying to live in a world where the actions of one city could affect those living in another.

❇ THROUGH THE MAGICAL PINK DOOR ❇
Somewhere along your journey, you will have come across a strange creature. It looked like a strange rabbit with a pom pom attached to its head. Stranger still, he tells you he can help you, and begins to hop away. Whether or not you follow him, somehow you find yourself passing through a strange pink door.

Once you step through, you suddenly find yourself falling, falling, falling down a ridiculously deep hole. Screaming, crying, flailing, nothing will help you until you fall onto a large pile of huge, soft, yellow feathers. After brushing yourself off, you notice a hallway in front of you. Since there's no other way to go, you being your journey through the hallway.

With strange, floating lamps guiding you, you come to an empty room surrounded by locked doors, and the one behind you closes. After spending a few minutes freaking out and trying to open the door, a table appears with a cellphone and laptop. The screen says the following:

HIT THE ENTER KEY_
Whether or not you knew what the message said, what it meant, or how to use a laptop, you find yourself hitting the required "Enter" key and the screen flickers for a moment before the following appears:

WHAT IS YOUR NAME? _
Well that's no biggie, of course you know your name! Again, even if you knew nothing about computers, you feel the knowledge flooding your brain. Without even thinking, you fill it in and the screen goes black. A new message appears.

REGISTRATION COMPLETED
YOUR NEW USERNAME AND PASSWORD WILL BE TRANSFERRED SHORTLY
You have no clue what that means, but no time to think about that. Another set of magical pink doors opens and you can leave this strange room. Once again, without thinking you take both the laptop and cellphone with you and approach the doors.

But just as you touch that door knob, you feel something hot somewhere on your body. When you investigate, a strange brand will appear there. Only then does the door swing open and you see the strange city before you. Dumbfounded, you just stand there until you get a new message:

WELCOME TO APRIGEN, OTHERWORLDER. YOU ARE NOW KNOWN AS ____________
where the blank is filled with your new name.

Wait...new name? What happened to your old name? Why can't you remember it? Why can you remember everything but your own name? And how are you supposed to get it back? Maybe this "network" thing will have some answers.

❇ THE WORLD OF APRIGEN ❇
For eons, Aprigen had been under the rule of the Eidolons, powerful beings that some would believe to be gods. No one knows how they were created, though it had been said that the world itself had created the Eidolons out of its very core.

Each Eidolon ruled over a piece of territory and would go through cycles of power. Through time, they learned that by utilizing the power of human emotion, they could harness a stronger, more powerful essence that they themselves do not have. For Eidolons were created devoid of emotion.

Thus they began to absorb certain emotions that they believed would cater to their strength to later battle to one day sit in the place believed to be the highest seat of the Eidolons: Pandora.

But this round has proved to be different. The King of Dragons, Bahamut, has seized power through the destruction of his own city, and now the Eidolons wish to bring him down. Each take a different path, but all come back to one common ground: the use of the otherworlders.

Who will succeed will depend on the otherworlders and whether or not they will be able to remember who they really are.
