“Like this,” he whispers against Dean’s ear, and he rocks his hips up against Dean’s. The slow grind of cock against cock steals Dean’s breath, and it’s barely a whisper when Dean repeats, “Like this.”

...because it keeps one of the best parts of the original, especially combined with the yin-yang imagery at the end. Lovely.

Wow. Love this. I really liked the original story, and then you re-write it, and it just becomes more.

Loved this: “I didn’t eat when you were dead,” he says. because it just shows his insecurities so well, and that whole part there shows how he's not really sure what's up with his brother.

And this “What, the thing with the-” “You got arrested for pissing on the side of a police car.” I think is the perfect example of how you made the original more (or better, even). It's so much stronger here, which just shows what an amazing writer you are.

I also loved this: It feels like maybe the experience should be familiar, but it’s not. Dean’s arm is cool and unbranded under Sam’s palm. . And this Somehow, they fit, even facing in opposite directions, just feels so season 4 to me.

Not only did you comment, you kicked ass. I am impressed! And also, so happy you enjoyed this one. Remixing is one of my favorite challenges, and it's completely awesome to get comments from people who've read and compared both stories! I could not be happier that you thought the bit at the end, about them facing opposite directions, felt very Season 4 to you. Setting this in S4 wasn't my original intention, but then it just clicked, and I'm so glad you thought retelling the story using recent canon worked. One of my favorite things about remixing is that the end result can be a story that's not really the same at all, even though the same events happen. I love how things can take on a different significance like that, which is why my remixes thus far have involved changing the setting rather than the POV. I don't know, maybe I should branch out next time. *g*

Wow. I really enjoyed this. I love the way Dean is repeatedly put out by tiny (false) indicators that Sam doesn't appear to have been pining, and the way Sam keeps needing the reassurance that Dean is here. It works well in s4.

The sudden frantic hotness is lovely, and then this: After a minute, he says, “Shower?” because coming in your pants gets less and less awesome as the minutes tick by made me gleeful because it is such a kink of mine, but then the reality and the humour kick in...

One teeny thing: it should be "settles in vertebra by vertebra".

Look at you, reading all this Supernatural fic! I'm so glad you liked this, and I'm with you: I love it when they don't even make it out of their pants, but the awesomeness fades EXTREMELY quickly. *g* Also: I'm kind of an idiot, huh? You know, I haven't read much S4 fic. I'm loving the season so much that I just haven't gone looking for it! I couldn't resist setting this in S4, though, and I'm so glad you liked it! Thanks! =)
