Going to canoe and camp our way down the Ord River over the next two days awww yeahhhhhh. Guy (complete with mullet) assured us that there are no saltwater crocs in the river \o/, only fresh water (aaaah). But apparantly they are scared by everything, so hopefully they'll take one look at us and run for it. SO EXCITED OMG. Back to Lake Argyle :D :D ( Read more... )

Freshies are scared of everything.

I've never seen one in the wild, even when they were supposed to be there. Salties...well, I'm grateful I've never seen one of those in the 'wild' especially when they were supposed to be there...

hehe saw a freshie jump out ~2m from the canoe - very exciting and gave us a bit of a start! Could also see a few of his brethren glide up to the surface to look at us, and slowly slink back down again.
No saltwater ones, though (thank goodness). We were told to just get the hell out of there if we did. (not the best thing to tell relatively novice paddlers!)
