I'm not entirely sure on the exact canon ordering of events in the game, but then I came up with this on IM in response to Pepper telling me about someone else's dream, so go figure. Set somewhere just before the events in the Crater, when Sephiroth was still crazy and Cloud was still almost-sane. Assumed C/S/Z pre-game.

( It's the humming that first catches Cloud's attention, though whether it's real or still all in his head he never finds out. )

Eee, thank you. I can't have done too bad if you liked it despite the just-about pairing. ;)

The present tense was mostly the fault of my writing this in IM, then re-writing it out as a ficbit - thanks for catching that! *fixes* I've never played the game, so I hope the crazy works the way it's supposed to in canon. >>

*giggles* Thanks, but after getting into the fandom and watching Advent Children and seeing so much gorgeous promo art...I think I'd flail at the original game and not have the patience to finish it. If I play a game it's almost always for the story and little else, and I'm lucky enough to have friends who told me all about it and explained everything to me, so - I don't think I'd actually enjoy playing the game very much. Especially knowing what happens to some of the characters. ;_;

Ooh, yes please! I'm not much of an entry-maker (am depressed and angsty much of the time) but I comment a fair bit...even though I don't read much fanfic - the odd bit here and there will catch my eye - but I *am* pretty friendly :)

Well, that works out just fine, since I don't tend to write much fanfic and I like friendly people! ^^;; I'm so glad you like this - the bunny bit and wouldn't go away, so I'm really pleased it worked for you.
