Hey guys. I'm currently working on my M.Sci and am applying to Ph.D. programs for the coming fall. The school this sop was written specifically for gave no limit. I'm at about 560 words or so, there are a few places I need/want to add too but I'm having serious writers block so I figured a bit of editing help now might be good for me.

I would personally bring up that you'd be an excellent fit for X University earlier, even if it's just a sentence in the first paragraph. Then you need to add a lot more on this later on, because right now I read it and sort of wonder why you want X University more than any other program and why it would be an excellent fit for you.

You might want to add a bit about any of the professors that you would personally like to work with in the PhD program. I didn't do this personally because I'm only doing a MS but my friend made sure to find people he wanted to do his research with when he applied for his PhD.

Thanks. The application actually asks who I want to work with but I might put that in the sop.
