Statement of Purpose

I am applying to Mathematics Graduate programs for next fall and I need to come up with a statment of purpose but I'm not sure what a statment of purpose is supposed to look like. The instructions are fairly vague. Does anyone know where I might be able to read an example of one? It would be especially helpful if it were for a Math PHD program, but ( Read more... )

In general, if you're worried if they will accept your application without the required GRE scores (or will accept the GRE scores late) the best thing to do is ask the admissions officer (or the potential advisor). If you can give good reasoning, then they may be able to put in a word in your favor. However if it's a prestigious school and they get many good applicants, not having that score or having it come late will likely be a huge black mark on your application package, and send you down to the bottom of the list (even if they do allow you to submit the application).

But really, I would look at schools that don't require it. I actually didn't apply to any schools that required the GRE Biology Subject because I didn't have the time/inclination/money to take it.
