Hi, guys.  :)  I'd really appreciate it if a few people wouldn't mind glancing over my SoP (with all pertinent names removed, of course).  I've got my MA and am applying to PhD film studies programs (most of which are housed in English or Communications departments.)  Again, I'd really appreciate any comments.

You have a lot of run-on sentences. Start with this. One thought or activity per sentence. Everywhere you've got a semicolon, replace it with a period and capital. Then read your statement out loud. If you find yourself gasping for breath at any point, you need to split that sentence somehow.
