Financial guidance! so lost

I love this community you have here. this is my first post. hope you guys can help cause I'm dead lost in the whole American grad study system. I don't have a real grasp of my REAL opportunities as far as scholarships and financial aid goes; they all say there are tons of options out there, but the whole picture seem gray.

Please think twice before taking out loans for a degree in the humanities, or in any field for that matter. I think it is commendable that you are considering furthering your education, but is there a market for this degree, and if so, is it worth putting yourself in debt? Student loans are not dischargeable in bankruptcy and the debt will follow you for life until you die or it is paid off. Unless you are getting a free ride, your employer will pay for it, or you happen to be independently wealthy, going to graduate school for a humanities degree is the wrong move. Just some friendly advice.
