Ok, I didn't have the best GPA but I still want to go to grad school. I am interested in going for Mental Health Counseling. I'm thinking of taking the GREs to help boost my chances of getting into a decent school. Right now, I'm looking into Brooklyn College and Touro College, though I am still looking into other schools that may be more ( Read more... )

I think that Psychology GRE is a waste of time and money, so I would not even bother about it unless the subject GRE test is required by your first choice schools.

I'd find out whether the programs you're looking at will actually consider the GRE if you take it. Some programs that don't require it don't take it into account at all, so it's not going to help you.

take the regular GRE and look into MSW programs they're a lot more comprehensive then MHT programs.

take a look at what programs you want to go to, as many MSW (which is more comprehensive and a more employable degree) may not require the GRE
