It makes sense to me to finish your psych degree then go to grad school for social work.

At this point, 3 years into your degree, I think that you should just stick with Psych as your undergrad major. Is it possible to take a social work course or two now to see if you enjoy the field before applying to sw grad programs?

Think about your long term goals, too. If you want to be a counselor you can do that with a degree in psych (e.g., MA in counseling, PsyD, etc.) or with an MSW.

I agree with all of this. Also, OP, check out socialwork and swk_students.

I agree with the others that you should finish the Psych degree first. It'll come in sooooo handy in everything else you want to do that's remotely related to the field you describe that it'd be a waste of 3 years and no doubt loads of college monies to quit it now.

I say go ahead and finish your psych degree--a lot of people apply to grad programs outside the field of their undergraduate major. As long as you can justify in the application your change in interest and that you are still a competent candidate in spite of not taking all the classes you might have if you had actual majored in your desired graduate field (which I don't think would be that big a stretch--psychology and counseling/social work seem like they'd have a lot of overlap to me), then you should be fine. :)
