The REU I did admitted people with and without research experience. I know that showing an interest in the projects mattered a lot more than the GPA.

Applications may be due very soon. The one for the university here is due next week.

Great! I would be thrilled to work with on any of the projects that I'm applying for, so hopefully I'll be able to communicate that in my essay.
