It varies depending on the test. If everyone else who took it did better than average, the percentiles will be lower for a given score. If everyone did worse, the percentiles shift higher.
Of the first three pages I found by Googling "average GRE score percentiles" (which you could have also done...) it seemed closest to matching my score/percentile combos from this year.
Don't know, but wanted to share a gem that caused me utter panic yesterday. I called to find out when I'd be getting those dear old reports (note its 15 business days, so just figure a month). The agent offered to confirm my scores if I could guess them. When I wasn't sure, she then gave me all sorts of confusing information. I had to call back and get a supervisor to straighten it out. Moral: If you want to verify your scores, just spend the $6.
