GRE question

My earliest application deadline is December 14th. If I take the GRE on November 24th and put in the school code for that university so that my scores go straight to that university, will my analytical writing score make it to the university on time? Thank you.

gre-general, deadlines, scores

I called ETS with roughly the same time constraints, and they said 14 days should be enough. As for the schools who get their scores twice a month on a CD -- well, assuming they get it at regular intervals, 30 / 2 = 15 days, Dec 14 - Nov 24 = 20 days, so I think you're OK.

It would be rather tight, but most schools understand if the scores arrive a little bit late. Just check with the school to be sure.

Most schools will accept November scores, in my experience, and many will say that on their websites or will tell you if you call. For one thing, YOUR deadline is not necessarily the REAL deadline. A program often throws a deadline out front, then spends the next three weeks making up packets and assuring all the info's available, and if Nov. scores arrive in that time frame, they just stick them in the packet.

That said, there probably are a few schools that chop off applications for any reason whatsoever, but that's not the norm.

I'm taking my GRE on the 15th and my earliest deadline is December 1st. I just asked my Kaplan teacher, "If I chose that school's code to enter on test day, would it go out earlier than the others that I will order score reports for later?" She said it will still take 10-15 days to process because the analytical writing section has to be graded. So I don't think I'm going to be able to apply to that program.

But call your school and ask!
