1. Kenya: suspected source of recent crime wave, Simon Matheri, found & shot dead - we'll see if this leads to anything useful. Too bad the 200 armed police failed to complete an arrest. It's particularly poor that the rest of the gang were not swept up in the same violent raid.

Given the eBay auction purporting to offer her shorn locks (some quick-thinking hair salon employee
or fraudster), there is speculation that newspapers are bidding, hoping to have the hair analysed for
drug traces. I hope she claims to have eaten lots of poppy-seed rolls if they find traces of morphine
in the shafts... the standard cocaine test notoriously returns false positives, but given the bid price,
the bidder could afford the expensive test.

I always thought that Kate Moss should have claimed to have been snorting ketamine when the pics
of her and white powder were publicised: she wouldn't have had to stay out of the UK until the "coke"
fuss subsided if she'd 'fessed up to something less heinous.

What use is tungsten/wolfram these days, now that its use as incandescent bulb filament is coming to an end?

We'd had the note about the Utah gent's experiences in Euro war/ethnic cleansing right after the event, but
it seemed more relevant that it was Valentine's Week (which has run to 23rd in the UK, because of half-term:
the poor kids at Cheney School have to live through the schmalz twice) and he went postal in a card shop...

The 'hookup' piece isn't very British, but our youth are the most disaffected in the developed world, and also
the ones who smoke/drink/fuck earliest. hm. The _grauniad_ had a piece on how 14-year-olds now practise
for dating not by tentatively kissing their female friends, but by engaging in intense sexual congress. I imagine
that the lesbian sphere will not long remain a haven from widespread STDs as girls leave the 'practice' sphere
to have their hearts broken, and return periodically for more oxytocin-laced buddy sex. *sigh*

1. Still plenty of uses for Tungsten.

2. Well, given that the kid was shot to death, we'll never really know.

3. The Young & their Oxytocin Experiments - What sort of pervert do you take me for? Oh yes, the same as 99% of all humans. ;-)

Btw, I'm amused by the notion that one might actually die from excess oxytocin. But I suspect that one would probably perish from other critical failures before an excess of orgasm did one in. ;-)
