I feel like I might have commented on this before, when olivia-notebook was public, but it's so wonderful it definitely deserves multiple comments.
Sammy peeped from behind the kitchen doorway. One eye. A sheaf of wild, blond hair. I love how, seemingly without effort, you capture the image of a small boy peeking from behind a corner and then running off, only a glimpse and then a blur of movement.
God, I loved Sam in this fic. I find many writers struggle with child dialogue, but this was so perfect and beautiful and I could just see and hear little boy Sam, drawing on himself, and then this line just blew my mind for it's simple beauty:
"What? Ow, that hurts me."
I could just immerse myself in your writing for days, I wish there was more here, but I'm so thankful for what is available. Thank you for sharing your incredible gift!
Well, I suppose I'm cheating a little bit, since I get to listen to child dialogue all day long. :)
I appreciate all the kind comments you've left on my stories/ficlets/things. It means a lot to me, to know that even just one or two people have enjoyed them. :)
