"Maa, Sanada, you'd better watch out," Fuji said, laughing easily. "You're too old and heavy to fly like me, so don't break your tail trying, mmm?" Fuji! You little tease! XDD

He landed with a thud, momentarily breathless, and then Sanada was diving triumphantly towards the field with Tezuka clutched tightly in his claws. Awwww.. Nice catch Sanada! :D

Tezuka said nothing, but he gave his grandfather's dragon--no, his dragon now--a small smile and closed his eyes again, continuing to stroke Sanada's scales. Gives off a very nice feeling. XDDDDD

you might have found it difficult to write, but it was wonderful to read - very exciting! how very tezuka to be self-sacrificing like that for a game. i haven't read temeraire, so i don't know how the dragons in it act, but i love how you have sanada cuddling tezuka.

your little short of 6-year-old yukimura visiting fuji's egg was ssooo ... awes-da-boo!

*squees with happy bouncing* Oh, thank you, exciting was what I was trying for, and that it worked makes me deliriously happy! In Temeraire, the dragons all have different personalities, but the dragon-rider bond is very strong (Lawrence and Temeraire cuddle!), and most first-generation riders are there when the egg hatches. Tezuka is a second-generation rider, but Yukimura is a first, and I wanted to show people what Tezuka missed out on. I'm so glad these pieces worked for you; thank you again for the lovely comment. ♥

I liked your Fuji characterization :D And the fight scene was awesome--esp since it was actually simple enough to follow.

This Tezuka confuses me. I think it's because he's not the most advanced person anymore? I dunno. :|

*burbles happily* I'm so glad the fight scene worked out; it was so difficult to write. And Tezuka's got a bit of a disadvantage, because he only just got ridership (when his grandfather died), while Yukimura has been riding Fuji ever since Fuji was born. The difference in training is there, because even though Tezuka's been training on Sanada, it's nothing compared to what Yukimura and Fuji have been doing. They _are_ better because of the extra training, but Tezuka and Sanada are catching up VERY quickly (as the exhibition match shows). Thank you as always for reading, sweetheart. ♥

I loved the interaction. The fact that tezuka trust his dragon enough to let go and that its the one thing the two sneaky ones hadn't alloted for. I love the fact that Sanada is so gruff.
