Well, I meant the specific subset of women who have periods, who praise it, who worship it, who can't live without it...
Cause I can't stand it, I hate the pain, I hate the hassle, I hate the whole goddamn thing about it and even if it means I have to pay extra for Lybrel, Plan B and pregnancy tests, then so be it.
Different from not having one and still loving it (and I envy you, and my menopausal mom, and... :[ ). Can we trade, pleeeeeeease? :\

I suppose it's really hard to realize what it feels like until you experience it for yourself...like I feel so bloated and weird right now (couple days until next period, bah), I'd kill to have it over and done with.

Every female is entitled to their own opinion, though.
Personally, it's not like this is anything new. Just a hassle. I'm looking at the implant right now. It stops your period for 3 years.

Personally, I think the downside to the period is not having that monthly "okay, not preggo" notification.
Then again, I've lost many cute panties to leaks, or mishaps.. :( Which makes me sad.

The FDA won't even consider a male birth control pill until they figure out how to control fertility without side-effects. In the article, one doctor hints that stopping periods is not a natural state. Why is the FDA so willing to tamper with women's bodies regardless of what it might do to us? This is most likely one more disaster waiting to happen - just like the Patch was for so many women. Hormonal birth control still has a long way to go before it's truly safe for women. We're all just being their guinea pigs.

I clicked the link, read the first ten comments, and remembered why I never read Digg. It's drawing from the same festering idiot pool as YouTube comments. Nothing like realizing the blithering dumbasses on /. are far from the worst this world has to offer...
