the algorithm...is inane.

The algorithm is from Jersey.
The algorithm killed Jeeves.
The Unabomber hates the algorithm.
The algorithm constantly finds Jesus.
The algorithm is banned in China.I can't possibly be the only person who thought this viral marketing campaign by Ask.com was originally a Google thing (maybe!). In fact, almost everyone I know who saw those ads and ( Read more... )

But yeah, waste of money.

how many people know wtf an algorithm is?

i've seen some other people wonder about it..like how the running time of the algorithm might be constant or something like that.

the point is the mass majority of people will not understand anything about it, and the newer billboards have the Ask.com logo somewhere on them now. Still sorta stupid.

algorithms! that's not too hard to understand, right? Well, giving a definition perhaps is, but still.

Yeah, it's stupid. But that doesn't mean it's not fun! Here we had these failed viral marketing attempts. Parlando, a Tele2 attempt at competing with Skype, had yellow imps standing everywhere in crowded area's, now a company appeartently has porcelain bulldogs with glasses on in public spaces. Beats the tvshops anytime, though.
