Wow, crazy things. I guess I'm in the never heard of that either category but since I've never had to deal with a cycle a bit understandable. They do sound like a pretty good idea and looking like the top of an indian castle is pretty neat.
I think the sex during period thing is usually due to the fear that something is wrong when you pull out and are covered in blood. irrational thinking but yeah not something that we are used to seeing :)
it's not like we gush blood all the time :P just i know sooo many guys who don't even go anywhere near their girlfriends while they're on the rag, it's sorta disappointing. there's shower sex, there's giving oral...etc.
nah, i looooove mine :D there's some quirks I hate about it, but not much that I'd be switching to something else.
And nah, you just have to take it out without tilting it too much, and all the blood should stay in the cup. Unless you're just pulling on the stem to take it out, which really fucking hurts cause of the seal, it wouldn't go all over the place.
My girlfriend uses Instead and seems to like them. Vaginal sex is also possible with it in.
The long-term cups make more economical and ecological sense though. If I had periods, they're probably what I would use. They are too big for vaginal sex though? The last one I looked at didn't seem much bigger than the instead cups.
Well, I got a box of insteads before I got my divacup, and I couldn't get it up there without having it leak massively, and getting them out was really hard cause only the rim of the insteads is hard plastic and I couldn't get my finger hooked on it :(
The insteads are slightly bigger than the cups, certainly much wider, and they're designed to cover the cervix, vs. the cups that fit low in the vagina. Sex with insteads is possible, but not with the cups (cause the cup pretty much sits right next to the entrance).
Pfft, as long as women don't go all PMS-ing etc. When men get influenced by their testosterone, they are savage and unable to control their hormones. When women are bitchy and/or whiny, we are supposed to feel sorry for them with their periods?
i never said men should feel sorry for them while they're on the rag.
i just said, if men would grow some balls and be more mature and informed instead of going "oh yeah my gf bitches about that i dunno what to do and i dont really care" or "wtf that's tmi i dont want to hear about it" and don't even want to think about their female significant other being on the rag, it would be ideal. cause it happens, so what.
and you should really check out the menstrual cups community, because they got tips for EVERYTHING.
There's a learning curve, but it shouldn't be too difficult to figure it out. It took me two periods until I finally was able to consistently use it with no problems inserting/removing.
I thought about for a while which to get ... I went for Lunette. some of the other ones had the 3 or 12 months satisfaction warranty but .. well, since I'm still stuck in Ireland, the finnish site was cheapest (kuukuppi.fi) and that one seemed to get a lot of good reviews anyway and was a bit than the other silicone models (the rubber grosses me out). It's actually weird that I though all the eco/vegetarian and big cosmetic/pharmacy stores in the city here, and none had any of any of those in stock .. so let's see how that goes :) (yea, one of the topics that grosses me out to talk, I think shaving in the shower with my man is as far of the grossness as I go .. anything that comes or not of my private parts is none of his business...). So let's see how that will work .. :)
