I find it difficult to take a position here. On one hand, as a nihilistic existentialist, I loathe forcing believes on people. On the other hand, I do see these are non-profits trying to help people - though you and I may believe part of their interpretation of 'helping' is flawed. But are religious believes that different from other believes? For instance, right-winged organisations here in The Netherlands are claiming the environmental groups should not get government support.

OK, that differs a bit: the environmental organisations have a clear political agenda while a church-based charity might pose as humanitarian while being evangelical. I do agree that if organisations get funds for non-discriminatory humanitarian help, they should be monitored for that. Funding (casu quo tax reduction) should be fine as long as it is clearly marked and granted for the purpose of spreading a believe.

Here's the thing. I have zero problem with faith based nonprofits helping only the people they want..provided they pay all taxes (basically give up their nonprofit tax exempt status) and do not receive money under false pretenses, that the money they do receive clearly is given so they can use it for religious purposes. It's entirely possible to go this route ( ... )
