Saw this from moreteadk and decided to take the test. I was averaging 97-98 wpm listening to Sarah McLachlan, but then my iTunes random hit Gym Class Heroes's "The Queen and I" and I hit my high of:

HAHA DO IT! :D I tried it like 6 times, and you seriously do get faster each time. And then my fingers went all tingly so I stopped, HAHA :P

Only 6?! Just wait until I meet you in a dark alleyway in LJ-land....! I spent all DAY yesterday until I got so frustrated with it it was making me angry. I can do 450 characters per minute, but my precision gets shot to hell when I do. Then I had to open a different page, ANY page, because I couldn't have the test open without going back to it. I'm not sure why I'm obsessing so much over this one, it just brings out a beast in me.

HAHA <3333 That thing is FREAKING ADDICTIVE. I just kept doing it and doing it. until I finally had to just close the thing because I would KEEP trying to beat my score. And then when you drop scores instead of increasing, it's SUCH a buzzkill :P

my speed test was absolutely pathetic. but i don't think i'll ever be an amazing typist. even after all those typing classes years ago. i think it's fair to say i've improved though.

HAHA about Love, Ginny. i liked it. but i've already told you all about what i think of it. you should post it... you've definitely come far. <3

I won't do the "Which fic are you most proud of?" thing, b/c i don't know if i rightly can, but i did want to ask- which fic are you most proud of?

HAHA it's okay! Betty got 120 wpm. WTF RIGHT?! But as she pointed out, that's not our regular leisurely typing speed, HAHAHA. That's just like, FURIOUS FINGERS FLYING!

HAHAH JEN SHUT UP! I liked it when you opened with "...Uhh...well...it's not your best." BEST FEEDBACK EVER :D ♥

Oh MAN. HAHA Damn you, you noticed I didn't mention that :P I'd say The Absence overall has my best writing? It's also the messiest though, and also it's kind of recent which might be why I think of that one.

you are both crazy. fucking crazy typing people. you should be secretaries. so there.

The Absence is beautiful. though i would agree with the "messy" sentiment. i think the story itself is not messy, but it does feel ...discombobulated, perhaps. it really is beautifully written, though.

i thought more about the purpose of this post, and i have to say that the story i'm most proud of is Memorials, but i think the one people like best is A Slow Descent. and i'm definitely also proud of that one. but i find it strange, and almost amusing, that my favorite thing i've ever written has gotten such mediocre responses from everyone that's read it- including my mother, and she's supposed to unconventionally love everything i do.

i think for the writer though, it probably has a lot more to do with process than result, you know? i mean, i remember you remarking on Barest Hint of Lemon and saying that you hadn't put too much effort into it-comparatively. that would have a huge effect on your own perception. and perhaps your readers are ( ... )

<3 I KNEW you'd get what I meant! It's messy. I feel like there's some good raw material there, I just...got really lazy and didn't bother editing/refining it. My defense was, they're messed up in their heads. EXCUSE EXCUSE! haha :P

You totally support my theory :D You raise a really good point though, that for us it's DEFINITELY the process that contributes a lot to how we feel about the fic. I slaved over Absence...maybe that's why I think it's better, cuz I spent so much time on it, which is not necessarily always true, you know?

Since Hallucinating Foucault, I've been thinking a lot more about reader/writer relationships :D

HAHAH SANDI. I would never want you to think less of me. And after reading that...you would. :P NO JOKE!

Oh, NICE! HAHA AW THANKS. It was fun READING! Do you feel it was also your most well-received one? If yes, you break my theory. If no, my theory lives on!

Whoa, sorry, Sandi, I totally lost track of this comment and meant to reply like days ago!

re: fic
Um, it's totally worse. No compare!

Oooh, cool, okay, you still fit the theory! HAHA stretching it a bit, but STILL! :P But I agree, I think in our early writings, we were so filled with ship love and it was all unvarnished and everything that it was more emotionally packed and our shippy hearts were really invested. Nowadays it's like, I'm much more careful w/ the characters and stuff, more conscious thought goes into it, rather than just this outpouring of ship love.
