Talking to Hindustan Times, music composer A.R. Rahman says that has a new policy for composing music: I just want to push for the financial rights of composers and lyricists, even producers. But companies only put their money where their vaults are :-p

Seriously, I think all that talk is to emotionally manipulate the customer, to use potential guilt about starving some poor people who play a part in making the music. I remember seeing an anti-piracy ad which was trying to say that the workers low down in the hierarchy of the music industry are the ones get affected the most.
