Know what? I just finished re-reading a south India travelogue (in Malayalam) in the bus today evening. I was reading about Trichy, Srirangam, Tanjore, etc., and wanted to go.

Make sure your itinerary includes Tanjore. I must say that was the best part of my trip.

Also, there is a huge Nandi that looks very beautiful right in front of the temple. I don't have a good picture of that though :(

The bhrihadeshwara temple in Tanjore rocks!
The shadow of the top, it seems, neer touches the ground.

Actually, it is the entire tapered vimana of the temple that never casts a shadow during noon at anytime of the year. The shadow of the top does cast a shadow on the ground :)

Tanjore, in particular. It was my personal favorite.
