Ramakrishnan wanted some extra shelf space and was giving away a few books that he had. Being a vi user, the emacs and lisp manuals weren't of much interest to me, so I picked up Free Culture by Lawrence Lessig.

The book is a must read. It isn't filled with obscure legalese and makes for a nice read. A lot of things that we take for granted in our daily life wrt media, culture and 'intellectual property' are pointed out and applied to how groups of people have been trying to change them for their own benifit.

So you know Ramakrishnan ? Kewl. He's from my college, much senior to me :) Had no idea that he is giving away stuff though... hope Emacs and Lisp manuals are still with him.
