"Sophisticated Theologians" are just as wrong and disgusting as the lowbrow megachurch douchebags with millions of followers we're accused of "wrongly" focusing our efforts on, part 4 billion.

It's like calling Uwe Boll an accomplished director.

I wouldn't be the first to call him that, if I were in the business of calling him that. Millions of fundies would, because he talks all smart and they agree with him.

The analogy might fit, though.

Most people William Lane Craig debates (at least the ones who know about the theology side anyway) are quick to note that he undermines serious issues within theology by trumpeting over-simplistic apologia ( ... )

I'm not sure what any of this has to do with the existence of gods or anything else that's normally in the air when atheists are accused of watering down the issue by taking on the "strawmen" of the field.
