Title: We Are The Abyss Author: entangled_now Recipient: storydivagirl Fandom: Supernatural Pairing: Sam/Dean Rating: R Spoilers: None Warnings: Incest, the Apocalypse Prompt: Dean never figured he'd be there for the end of the world. ( We Are The Abyss )
This was fantastically bleak. If bleak can be called fantastic anyway. But I mean, like, this fic has a tone that's the equivalent of a dead desert, in a good way. A sense of helpless inevitable.
sat by the window and loaded his guns in quick angry gestures that meant nothing but kept him moving, always moving. Because sometimes he thought that if he stopped moving he'd end up dead too.
That is so very VERY Dean.
Dean hadn't ever dreamed he'd be around for the end of the world.
Oh, Dean.
Love the twist on the plague, how it eats ALL of you. That's... really horrifying. I love the end as well, the kind of ending that befits them, tragic and inevitable separation via death, but facing it together.
Why thank you for that lovely description, which I'm really grateful for, I'm glad you liked it.
I couldn't resist making the plague something very final, death on supernatural shows is almost never absolutely final, and this seemed a unique and creepy way to make sure no one could come back.
